| This project was the redevelopment of a contaminated
(brownfields) site. As such, site design and coordination with the limited
cleanup was essential and successful. Designed and prepared site
construction documents, obtained local, state and federal permits, provided
construction administration services for a 165,000 s.f. manufacturing
facility. The project included roads, utilities, parking areas, truck docks
and stormwater management. Design constraints included areas of
contamination with hazardous materials, extensive wetlands and vernal
pools. Permitting included approvals
from the Zoning and Planning Boards, Conservation Commission, MEPA, Water
Quality Certificate, U.S. EPA and Army Corps of Engineers for filling and
replicating wetlands. Stormwater management was a critical component which
mitigated impacts to resource areas. In some areas, the mitigating measures
improved the environmental impacts from the existing conditions. |
