CDW
initially completed a subsurface investigation inside an abandoned garage
slated for redevelopment for the Massachusetts Highway Department as part of
their supplemental environmental and community brownfields program. Separate
phase oil was found which resulted in accelerated investigation under an
Immediate Response Action. CDW recommended and prepared design plans and
specifications for a Release Abatement Measure consisting of soil excavation
and disposal in the affected area, dewatering of the excavation with storage
and off-site disposal of recovered oily water, and site restoration. CDW also
completed a risk assessment to determine target clean-up levels, based upon
the redevelopment of the Site as a community-run greenhouse. In adition, working
with a community group, CDW designed the greenhouse, and prepared plans and
specifications for construction. |
