Massachusetts DOT Environmental Site Audits and Assessments, Statewide, MA

environmental compliance

Under an extremely strict time schedule, CDW completed environmental site audits and investigations for 32 MassHighway vehicle maintenance facilities. The audits reviewed RCRA compliance of hazardous waste generation, storage and disposal, TSCA compliance, wastewater disposal, potable water sources, wetland resources, historic and archeological resources, solid waste disposal, spill prevention, asbestos and lead-based materials, above ground and underground storage tanks, and CERCLA and MCP releases of oil and hazardous materials.

CDW was further retained by MassHighway to implement EPA mandated Supplemental Environmental Projects. These projects targeted specific municipalities as beneficiaries, with the assistance targeted towards brownfields redevelopment of contaminated sites. Each site was audited for compliance with current regulations, followed by comprehensive subsurface investigations to identify and quantify soil and groundwater contamination.
