Kathy Campbell, PE, LSP, LEED AP, ENV SP

President & CEO

Ms. Campbell has more than 30 years of experience in environmental science and engineering in both the public and private sector. She is a registered Professional Engineer (MA/CT/RI) and Licensed Site Professional (MA), a LEED Accredited Professional, and an Envision Sustainability Professional. Ms. Campbell has managed the successful completion of hundreds of projects in New England and New York. As President and majority-owner of CDW, Ms. Campbell is primarily responsible for the growth of the firm.

Ms. Campbell’s specialty is the assessment and remediation of brownfield sites. She has been involved in many important national and state model brownfield projects, most recently three EPA Brownfields Grant sites in eastern Massachusetts. Her expertise encompasses evaluating site conditions (known or suspected) and developing cost closure estimates to assist redevelopment planning. Her extensive professional experience also includes performing hundreds of environmental assessments and subsurface investigations; conducting historical research for due diligence assessments for real estate transactions; preparing design plans for various remediation systems; and conducting environmental sustainability evaluations of operating systems, manufacturing plants, agency facilities, and transportation systems.

Ms. Campbell provides LSP services under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan, and regulatory compliance audits for manufacturing, public agencies, and municipal clients. Additionally, Ms. Campbell is responsible for all aspects of environmental permitting and compliance including remediation, resource protection, wetlands, historical research, and hazardous waste management. She has prepared permit applications under the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act, the Wetlands Protection Act, MassDEP Chapter 91, U.S. Army Corp of Engineers regulations, the National Environmental Policy Act, and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System.

Ms. Campbell was appointed to the Governor’s Board of Registration of Hazardous Waste Site Cleanup Professionals (the "LSP Board") in 2013 and continues to serve. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Environmental Business Council of New England (EBC-NE) and the Society of American Military Engineers-Boston Post. Other professional recognition includes the National Preservation Honor Award; EPA Phoenix Awards Region I – Gateway Park and Spire Projects; Excellence in Economic Development Award for Urban or Suburban Economic Development, U.S. Department of Commerce; and ASCE National Historical Landmark Award – Canton Viaduct. Her recent PCB cleanup and redevelopment project in Chelsea, MA was awarded the Brownfields Project of the Year from EBC-NE. She has also authored numerous articles on environmental engineering subjects.

Ms. Campbell holds a B.A. in Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College, NY; a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Risk Assessment from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell; and completed the Princeton Groundwater Inc.’s Groundwater Pollution and Hydrology course. She is certified for OSHA’s 8-hour Health and Safety Supervisor Training, 16-hour Confined Space Training, and 40-hour HAZWOPER Training. She is a member of the Licensed Site Professional Association (LSPA), the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), the Environmental Business Council of New England (EBCNE), the New England Water Environment Association (NEWEA), WTS International – Boston Chapter, and the Society for Women Environmental Professionals (SWEP).
