CDW was retained to provide data generation and management services for a GIS water supply protection project for the town of Acton. CDW designed a database of existing site uses within the project area for inclusion in the GIS for the project. Data including threatening land uses, hazardous waste disposal sites, RCRA generators, and oil and hazardous material spills were obtained within the DEP Zone II boundaries of Acton’s municipal drinking water wells. The project involved obtaining data from adjacent towns containing Zone IIs that contribute to Acton’s well water. Research was conducted in the towns of Concord, Carlisle, Westford, and Boxborough municipal offices.
